Six things to find
- Every model number. Furnace, coil, outdoor unit and thermostat. "Bosch system" or "16 SEER2 AC" isn't enough.
- The AHRI match. The certificate number for the outdoor unit and coil (and furnace, if listed) as a set.
- The connections. Line set (new or reused), drain, venting, electrical disconnect and circuit, and the transition between furnace and coil.
- What's staying. If anything is kept, the quote should say so and why it's suitable.
- Startup and records. Refrigerant charge check, airflow, thermostat setup, and the paperwork you get afterward.
- Price before and after rebates. Both, with each rebate named, and who files it.

What is an AHRI number?
It identifies a certified match between an outdoor unit, an indoor coil and sometimes the furnace. Rebates and rated efficiency depend on the matched combination, so a quote should name all three models.
